US Pea Planting Reaches 95 Percent Completion

Washington. Pea planting in the US has reached its final stage. A report released by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), based on data from regional offices, indicates that as of June 8, 2026, pea planting had been completed on 95 percent of the estimated (designated) acreage nationwide; in contrast, 94 percent of the area had been planted during the same period last year. The five-year average for planting completion is 92 percent.

The fastest progress in planting is being observed in the state of North Dakota, where pea planting has been completed on 96 percent of the area. Pea planting on 345,600 acres was projected for this state during the current year.

Meanwhile, in Montana, planting has been completed on 95 percent of the targeted 674,500 acres. Planting progress is also favorable in other states. However, the pace is relatively slower in Canada.
