30% import duty imposed on yellow peas.
★ Today, the Customs Department issued two notifications dated October 29, 2025 — Notification No. 46/2025 and 47/2025.
★ As per Notification No. 46/2025, all imports with Bill of Lading (BL) dated on or after November 1, 2025, will attract a total import duty of 30% (including BCD + AIDC).
★ Earlier, this rate was nil.
★ As per Notification No. 47/2025, the benefit of nil duty will now be available only for imports with BL dated on or before October 31, 2025.
★ Previously, this exemption was valid up to March 31, 2026.
★ Thus, imports of yellow peas with BL dated on or after November 1, 2025, will attract 30% duty, while those with BL dated on or before October 31, 2025, will continue to enjoy nil duty.
