Canada Market Update
Peas
★ The same old story continues in the pea market. Prices for yellow peas remain steady due to weak demand.
★ Neither China nor India has shown much interest in purchasing recently at the international level.
Spot market prices are steady at $10–$10.50 per bushel FOB farm.
★ New crop yellow peas are priced around $8–$9 per bushel, but interest from producers at these levels is nearly non-existent.
★ Green peas #2 grade (maximum 3% bleach) are trading at $17 per bushel in the spot market. New crop prices are around $13.50 per bushel (pickup).
★ Canada is awaiting India's decision regarding yellow pea imports.

Lentils
★ This week, there have been some minor changes in lentil prices. New crop small green lentils are priced at $0.40–$0.41 per pound FOB, and old crop prices remain steady at $0.52–$0.53 per pound FOB farm.
★ Bids for large green lentils are currently around $0.45–$0.47 per pound FOB, while old crop prices for #2 grade are stable at $0.58 per pound, and for X2/1 grade, at $0.60 per pound.
★ Red lentil prices are steady with old crop at $0.33–$0.34 per pound FOB and new crop at $0.30 per pound.
★ Large green lentil prices remain uncertain, with limited ending stocks expected.
★ A continued decline in prices for new crop small green lentils is likely.

Chickpeas (Kabuli Chana)
★ The market for Kabuli chickpeas remains sluggish.
★ Spot bids have reached $0.39 per pound FOB farm this week.
★ There has been no trading for the new crop, and no deals have been reported.
★ Due to decreased demand in the U.S. and balanced global supply, there may be downward pressure on new crop prices.
