Conversion of 60 fair price shops into Jan Poshan Kendras

New Delhi. The Union Minister of Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution launched the pilot scheme to convert 60 fair price government ration shops into Jan Poshan Kendras.
On this occasion, he announced the launch of FPS Sahay Application, Mera Ration App 2.0, Quality Management System, Quality Manual Handbook, Contract Manual FCI and 3 laboratories recognized by NABL.
Addressing a program organized on this occasion, the Food Minister said that all these 6 programs launched will make the food security system more strong and will bring transparency in its system,
ensure strict quality control, overcome the problem of malnutrition and will prove helpful in preventing leakage in it.
60 fair price shops in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh have been converted into Jan Poshan Kendras. During the launch,
the Food Minister said that this will provide a solution to the demand of the dealers of Fair Price Shops (FPS) across India to increase their income level.
A wide range of nutritious food items will be available in this center which will be sold to the consumers.
The dealers will get an additional source or medium of income from this. It is worth mentioning that the launch of this Jan Poshan Kendra was also included in the work list of the Central Government in the first 100 days.
In these centers, 50 percent of the products coming under the category of nutritious elements will be stored while the remaining 50 percent will be of other household items.
