On Monday, ICE cotton futures ended the session 30 to 36 points higher, retreating from overnight highs but still closing in positive territory.
Crude oil futures rose 5 cents to $61.55 per barrel, while the U.S. Dollar Index fell 0.021 points to 98.750.
U.S. and Chinese negotiators held productive talks in Malaysia over the weekend and prepared a framework for Thursday’s Trump–Xi meeting.
Although no cotton-specific topics were raised, renewed engagement between the two countries was seen as a positive signal for the market.
On Friday, The Seam’s online auction sold 679 bales at an average price of 58.95 cents per pound.
The Cotlook A Index rose 25 points on October 24, reaching 75.55 cents.
As of October 24, ICE-certified cotton stocks remained steady at 17,552 bales.
