Thiruvananthapuram. The Southern Peninsula region of the country has been receiving heavy rains for the past several days and this trend is likely to continue for the next few days. According to the Meteorological Department, during the winter (north-east) monsoon season, between 1 October and 4 November, the Southern Peninsula recorded 7 percent more rain than the normal average. Although the severe cyclonic storm has passed 10 days ago, the seasonal east-north-east wind is still blowing, due to which there is a possibility of rain in the future as well.

On the other hand, the maximum and minimum temperatures have started falling in Northern India. The autumn season is gradually approaching in the Gangetic plains. There has not been much change in the temperature in the northwestern, central, northern and northeastern states of the country at present. In fact, the maximum temperature in these areas is still 2-4 degrees Celsius higher than the normal level. At the beginning of the current week, dense fog prevailed in the morning in some parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh (Varanasi and Gorakhpur) and the plains of West Bengal (Barrackpore). Due to this, a new phase of normal or dense fog is likely to start for the next two months on the corridor connecting Northeast India to Central India and the connecting road between the eastern and northeastern states. This weather factor often affects this region.

On the other hand, if we talk about South India, a cyclonic circulation present over the south-eastern Arabian Sea has advanced, due to which normal to heavy rainfall is occurring in the southern part of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Another cyclonic circulation has advanced, due to which normal to heavy rainfall is occurring in the southern part of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Another cyclonic circulation has formed over the south-eastern part of the Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department had already predicted this. A tuff from this circulation is moving towards southern Tamil Nadu, due to which rain may occur there during the current week.
