Heavy rains likely in 14 states till September 30

New Delhi. Although the southwest monsoon has departed from western Rajasthan and Kutch division of Gujarat, there is a possibility of torrential rains in many states of the country during its return journey.

Heavy rains are still occurring in some states including Maharashtra, while there is a possibility of rain in the southern states and northern states.

Due to heavy rains in August-September, many rivers flooded and reservoirs were filled to the brim with water.

From Arunachal Pradesh in the northeast to Goa in the west, severe floods were seen in many states. National Rajasthan Sun and clouds are playing hide and seek in Delhi and its surrounding areas. The weather has started clearing in western Uttar Pradesh.

But the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain warning in many states of the country.

Today (September 26), there is a possibility of torrential rains in 7 states of the country. The spell of rain continued till 25th September and for the next one or two days, there will be heavy rain in Maharashtra (Konkan) and Goa.

Apart from this, heavy rain is also expected in Madhya Pradesh's Vidarbha division. An alert of heavy rain has been issued in Mumbai and surrounding areas.

This alert is also valid for the coastal and southern regions of Karnataka. Heavy winds and thunderstorms along with rain have been predicted in some areas.

The spell of rain is also continuing in Assam and Meghalaya. The Meteorological Department has declared an alert of heavy rain in many states during 27 to 30 September,

which includes Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa etc.

Apart from this, rain is also expected in Meghalaya along with Konkan and Gujarat today. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Saurashtra and Kutch of Gujarat, while there is a possibility of torrential rain in some places in Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim. This may cause damage to Kharif crops.
