ICE cotton futures weakened in Wednesday’s session, with nearby contracts closing 7 to 12 points lower. Crude oil futures were up $1.26 per barrel on the day at $64.47. The U.S. dollar index rose by 0.214 points to 97.515.
Tuesday’s online auction from The Seam showed sales of 8,680 bales at an average price of 55.62 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index fell another 45 points on February 3 to 73.35 cents per pound. On February 3, ICE-certified cotton stocks increased by 2,247 bales, taking total certified stocks to 36,515 bales. The Adjusted World Price was last updated at 50.23 cents per pound.
