Export Sales data released this morning showed wheat sales of 373,877 metric tons for the week ending January 29. This was down 33.02% from the previous week and 14.81% below the same week last year. The largest buyer was the Philippines. Taiwan purchased 89,200 metric tons, while Mexico bought 67,900 metric tons. In addition, 41,000 metric tons were sold for the 2026/27 marketing year.
Large global supplies continue to weigh on the market. According to Russian data, Russia’s wheat crop in 2025 totaled 93 million metric tons, including Russian-controlled territories of Ukraine. Wheat area for 2026 is expected to total 83 million metric tons.
