Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh has reported exceptional wheat procurement during the ongoing Rabi marketing season, driven by the state government's announcement of an additional bonus of ₹175 per quintal. This incentive, provided over and above the central Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹2425 per quintal, brings the total price for farmers in the state to ₹2600 per quintal, significantly boosting participation in government procurement.
According to official figures, the state has procured approximately 67.93 lakh tonnes of wheat from over 7.81 lakh farmers so far. The government has already disbursed ₹6000 crore directly to farmers’ bank accounts in return for the procurement — a move aimed at ensuring transparency and timely payments.
Top Procuring Districts:
Ujjain: 6.49 lakh tonnes
Sehore: 6.26 lakh tonnes
Vidisha: 5.38 lakh tonnes

The proactive approach by the Madhya Pradesh government not only supports wheat producers but also ensures food grain stability in the public distribution system.
