News Capsule: California’s almond exports to India have declined sharply this season.
★ Between August and October 2025, shipments to India fell 29 percent to 33,021.52 metric tonnes, which is 28.7 percent lower than in 2024–25. However, US industry sources say that Indian demand remains strong, and larger shipments are expected in the coming months.
★ Demand in Europe is firm, especially in Spain, Germany and Italy, where shipments have shown double-digit to sharply higher growth. In contrast, purchases from the UAE and Turkey have declined. Southeast Asia, particularly Vietnam, continues to increase imports rapidly.
★ US almond stocks are 8 percent lower than last year, and processing has slowed due to wet weather.
★ If India’s buying picks up sharply, supplies could tighten in the coming months.
