New Delhi. Due to the current low prices of red chilli, after Madhya Pradesh, now news of reduction in sowing of red chilli has started coming in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well.
It is noteworthy that 80/90 percent of the sowing of red chilli has been completed in Madhya Pradesh and news is coming that the sowing is 25/30 percent less than last year.
The arrival of new red chilli in Madhya Pradesh will start in the month of October-November. Last year, the production of red chilli in Madhya Pradesh was about 40 lakh sacks.
Due to the producers not getting the right price, sowing is also estimated to be 30/35 percent in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Transplanting work has started in the said states. While the new crop will start in the month of January.
No rise now
Informed sources say that there is no possibility of rise in the prices of red chilli in the near future. Because due to high production during the current season, the stock is sufficient in the producing states. Also, the export demand is also low.
Due to weak demand from China, the export of red chilli in April-2024 was 43472.28 tonnes. Whereas in April 2023 last year, the export was 53834 tonnes. In the year 2023-24 (April-March), the total export of red chilli was 601084 tonnes.
