November soybeans have averaged a close of $10.29 throughout October, supported by the recent rally. Last year’s harvest price for crop insurance was $10.03, while the spring price was $10.54.
Ahead of the Trump/Xi meeting, there are rumors that China purchased at least 180,000 metric tons of soybeans on Wednesday. However, due to the government shutdown halting the FAS weekly Export Sales report and large daily sale announcements, exact figures are currently unavailable.
Despite limited official data, a Reuters survey of analysts estimates soybean sales for the week ending October 23 between 0.6 and 1.6 million metric tons. Meal sales are expected at 50,000–500,000 MT, while bean oil sales are seen between 5,000–25,000 MT.
Rabobank projects Brazil’s 2025/26 soybean production at 177 million metric tons, with planted area up 2% to 48.8 million hectares (120.5 million acres).
