USDA Report: Record Global Wheat Output, India’s Consumption Set to Rise
★ According to the USDA, global wheat production for 2025-26 is estimated at a record 808.5 million tonnes, higher than 799.7 million tonnes in the current season and 792 million tonnes in 2023-24.
★ India's wheat production is projected at 117 million tonnes, exceeding the Indian government's estimate of 115.4 million tonnes.
★ Domestic wheat consumption in India is expected to rise from 108.8 million tonnes in 2024-25 to 112.5 million tonnes in 2025-26.
★ China’s wheat demand is forecast to remain stable at 150 million tonnes.
★ Global wheat consumption is expected to reach 808 million tonnes, with growing demand particularly from Asian and Middle Eastern countries.
