This week’s NASS Crop Progress report showed that 96% of the U.S. spring wheat crop had been harvested by Sunday, in line with the average pace. Winter wheat planting was 17% complete, 4 percentage points behind the five-year average. Emergence stood at 2%.
Winter wheat planting may slow next week, with 1 to 2 inches of rain expected from the Texas Panhandle through Kansas.
The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange estimates Argentina’s 2026/27 wheat production at 23.4 million metric tons, down from 27.8 million metric tons last year.
According to the European Commission, EU wheat exports from July 1 through September 20 were estimated at approximately 6.3 million metric tons, ahead of 6.19 million metric tons during the same period last year.
