Kochi. The All India Spices Exporters Forum is organizing the 9th International Spices Conference (ISC 2026) at the Le Meridien Hotel in Kochi, Kerala, on February 23-26. This conference is expected to be significant and beneficial for spice producers, traders, processing industries, exporters, importers, and other stakeholders.
India is the world's leading producer, consumer, and exporter of spices. Whole spices and spice products worth over $4 billion are exported annually. However, new challenges are emerging in the international market, requiring timely and precise strategies to successfully address them.
Uncertainty persists in customs matters in major importing countries, and strict regulations are being implemented regarding the quality of spices and adulteration by foreign substances. India needs to maintain consistency in spice production and export promotion to meet global standards. The United States maintained a 50 percent tariff on Indian spices for several months, impacting exports there. This four-day event will feature numerous experts presenting their views, which could provide a new direction for the industry.
