Urad prices improve due to increased buying
Chennai. The urad market witnessed a bullish trend this week. According to trade analysts, prices were supported by a slowdown in selling at lower prices and increased buying by pulse millers. Arrivals of urad in producing markets have begun to weaken, which has prompted more active stockists and millers, leading to a rise in market prices. Experts believe that if arrivals decline further or buying becomes more active, urad prices could see further strengthening in the near future. Chennai urad prices increased by Rs. 75/100 per quintal this week due to weakening importer selling and improved demand, taking the FAQ price to Rs. 6800 and SQ urad to Rs. 7400 per quintal.
