Bangladesh to Import 50,000 Tons of Rice from India
Dhaka: The Bangladesh government has approved a proposal to purchase 50,000 tons of parboiled non-basmati rice from India. The rice will be procured from the Indian company Bagadia Brothers at a price of $434.55 per ton.
This decision was made during a meeting of the Government Procurement Advisory Council.
Additionally, on February 19, the first shipment of 23,000 tons of "Atap" rice from Myanmar arrived at Chattogram Port. This is part of Bangladesh’s plan to import a total of 105,000 tons of rice from Myanmar.
