Brazilian Soybean Exports Accelerate

Brasilia. Data released by Brazil's Foreign Trade Secretariat shows a significant increase in soybean export shipments. In the first 12 days of the current month, 1.65 million tons of soybeans were shipped from Brazil, compared to 2.06 million tons exported during the entire month of December 2024. This clearly indicates an increase in supply in the domestic market.

The harvesting of the new soybean crop is expected to begin next month in Brazil, and production is projected to reach a new record level during the current 2025-26 marketing season.

Therefore, farmers are trying to increase sales of their existing stocks before the new crop arrives.

According to analysts, the heavy exports of soybeans from Brazil are likely to increase supply pressure on the international market, which could lead to lower prices.

According to a report by the cooperative agency Conab, in the first 11 months of the current year, from January to November 2025, Brazilian soybean exports surged to an all-time high of 104.79 million tons, generating revenue of $42 billion. Previously, the record export was 101.87 million tons in 2021.

Approximately 70 percent of Brazilian soybean exports go to China. China also imports a significant amount of soybeans from the United States, but imports from the US were halted for several months this year, giving Brazil an opportunity to increase its exports.

China has now resumed buying some soybeans from the US, but this is not affecting Brazil's export business. Brazil is the world's leading producer and exporter of soybeans, while China remains its largest buyer.
