Canada Market Overview
Peas
★ As May draws to a close, the pea market remains steady. Seeding is progressing well across Canada, and recent rains have provided much-needed moisture in several regions.
★ Old crop yellow peas are holding firm at $10.50–$10.75/bu delivered, while new crop prices are around $9.00/bu picked up at the farm.
★ Green peas also remain unchanged from last week, with old crop peaking at $17.00/bu delivered and new crop offers ranging between $12.50–$13.00/bu picked up.

Lentils
★ The lentil market remains soft, with overseas buyers purchasing only based on immediate needs.
★ Increased seeding in Saskatchewan and recent rains have led buyers to expect greater supply, which could push prices down further.
★ Old crop large green lentils are trading between 44–46 cents/lb, while new crop bids are around 37–40 cents/lb.
★ Old crop small green lentils are priced at 38–40 cents/lb, and new crop at 34–36 cents/lb.
★ Red lentils are steady at 32–33 cents/lb for old crop and 28–30 cents/lb for new crop.

Kabuli Chickpeas
★ Kabuli chickpea planting is in full swing across the U.S. and Canada.
★ However, buyers are reluctant to make firm bids without confirmed end-user demand.
★ Typically, chickpea prices remain stable from January to early April, peak in late June, and decline in July.
★ This trend has been somewhat reflected this year, but current price levels are not attractive enough to encourage new crop acreage.
★ To motivate growers, new crop bids would need to reach at least $0.35/lb FOB farm with an Act of God clause.
