Clouds of crisis on Magaj-Talbooj imported after the prescribed date

New Delhi. Currently, there is a rise in the prices of Magaj-Talbooj. Looking at the current export, the sentiment in the market is still bullish. There is a discussion going on in the market that the government has started investigating the Magaj-Talbooj imported after the prescribed date of import. It is heard that the Directive Principles of Renewable Intelligence (DRI) has also issued summons to some importers. It is noteworthy that in order to curb the rising prices of Magaj watermelon, the government had issued a notification on 5 April 2024 and opened the import of Magaj-watermelon from 1 May 2024 to 30 June 2024 and the delivery of imported goods was to be done at the Indian port by 31 August 2024, but some importers have done import deals of Magaj-watermelon even after 30 June 2024. There are reports that the DRI has stopped the import deals done after the prescribed date at the port.

Market boom

There has been a boom in the market for the last one week. And the prices are expected to increase further. It is noteworthy that the price of 7 Star Sudan in Jodhpur in September 2024 was Rs 405/411 and the price of 5 Star Indian was Rs 365, whereas at present the price of 7 Star Sudan is being quoted at Rs 501/511 and the price of 5 Star Indian is being quoted at Rs 465.

Sentiment bullish

Mr. Vikas Soni of Jodhpur's famous and reliable establishment Vikas Udyog says that due to the high prices of cashew nuts at present, the demand for Magaj-Talbooj will increase during the festive season in the coming days. Also, the Indian crop has also been damaged due to the rains in the past few days. The arrival of new Magaj-Talbooj is likely to start by the end of October. Mr. Soni believes that due to the festive and marriage season, the price of Magaj-Talbooj can increase by Rs 100/150 per kg in the coming days and the price of 7 Star Sudan can cross the level of Rs 650.
