According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, ethanol production for the week ending February 13 averaged 1.118 million barrels per day, up 8,000 bpd from the previous week. Ethanol stocks increased by 341,000 barrels to 25.588 million barrels.
Weekly Export Sales data, to be released Friday morning, is expected to show corn sales between 0.6 and 2.2 MMT for the week ending February 12.
At its annual Ag Outlook Forum, the USDA released preliminary estimates for the U.S. corn balance sheet. Planted acreage is projected at 94 million acres this spring, which would be down 4.8 million acres from last year if realized and below trade estimates. Production is estimated at 15.755 billion bushels, with a trend yield of 183 bushels per acre.
According to the International Grains Council, global corn stocks for 2025/26 were unchanged at 305 MMT, while consumption increased by 1 MMT.
