According to the EIA data released this morning, ethanol production for the week ending October 17 showed a slight increase, rising by 3,000 barrels per day to 1.074 million barrels per day. Despite the production increase, stocks declined by 92,000 barrels to 22.628 million barrels. During the week, ethanol exports fell by 30,000 barrels per day to 108,000 barrels per day, while refinery inputs of ethanol increased by 23,000 barrels per day to 915,000 barrels per day.
Normally, Export Sales data is released on Friday due to the Monday holiday, but it has been postponed because of the government shutdown. Traders estimate that corn bookings for the week of October 9 totaled between 0.9 and 2 million metric tons.
