ICE cotton futures eased back from midday gains during Thursday’s session, with front-month contracts closing 3 to 5 points lower. The US dollar index fell by $0.406 to 98.135, while crude oil prices declined by $0.87 per barrel.
Wednesday’s online auction from The Seam showed just 445 bales sold at an average price of 54.09 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index fell another 10 points on October 15 to 74.85 cents. ICE-certified cotton stocks rose by 158 bales on October 15, bringing the total certified stocks to 16,751 bales.
