Previously, during August 2023, India exported 8,082 tons of cumin, 1,230 tons of fennel, 7,473 tons of coriander, and 2,072 tons of fenugreek.
It is worth noting that these four spice crops are cultivated during the Rabi season, with Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh being the top producing states. Sowing of these crops has begun.
In addition, the country exports a large number of spices, including turmeric, red pepper, black pepper, cardamom, nutmeg, mace, and garlic.
Red pepper and turmeric are Kharif season spice crops, while black pepper, cardamom, and nutmeg mace are produced in orchards.
Rabi season spice prices continue to fluctuate, so it will be important to monitor the sowing area. There is sufficient moisture in the soil for sowing spice crops, and the weather remains favorable.
