Decline in international prices of pulses
Yellow Peas (Price CNF $/ton):
★ The price of Canadian yellow peas has decreased by $5 to $395/ton this week (April 30). On April 16, the price was $405/ton. This means that in the last 15 days, the price of yellow peas has dropped by $10/ton.
★ The production of yellow peas in the country has been weak this year. Despite the weak international prices, imports are declining due to a lack of demand.
★ Compared to last year, the import of yellow peas has also been weaker.
★ There is already an existing stock of peas in the country, and due to weak demand, prices are under pressure. However, there is an expectation of price increases in the future.
