New Delhi. Although the 2024-25 ethanol supply season began on November 1, 2024, and was scheduled to end on October 31, 2025, the deadline for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, and MRPL has been extended by ten days to November 10, 2025.
This decision will provide relief to ethanol producers, providing them with additional time to supply their outstanding stocks. Suppliers have been asked to ensure ethanol supply to the nearest oil marketing companies' centers by November 10 and provide complete details to the companies by November 15.
Ethanol TT-in-voice will not be accepted after November 10. Ethanol suppliers have been fully informed and provided with the necessary procedures to ensure timely dispatch.
The information stated that the decision regarding the supply of ethanol produced from rice received from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) is being clarified.
The Food Corporation will accept payments from distillers only until October 27, 2025, to release its stocks and rice for the 2024-25 supply season, and this rice must be lifted by October 31, 2025. Beyond October 31, 2025, no rice release orders will be issued by the Food Corporation for the 2024-25 PO.
Ethanol supplies for extended periods will be accepted based on the needs of various oil marketing company facilities, and suppliers must comply with all terms and conditions, including the necessary documentation.
According to available data, oil marketing companies received a total of 904.84 crore liters of ethanol during November 2024 to September 2025, while the total contracted amount was for 1131.70 crore liters.
Of this, 598.14 crore litres were produced from cereals and the remaining 306.70 crore litres were produced from sugarcane ingredients.
