New Delhi: The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), an arm of the Union Ministry of Commerce, issued Trade Notice No. 08/2026-27 on July 1. Through this notice, it has granted exporters of value-added wheat products—such as atta (whole wheat flour), maida (refined wheat flour), and sooji (semolina)—until July 10, 2026, to submit details regarding quota allocation and export performance as of June 30, 2026.
Exporters have been asked to specify the quota of wheat products allocated to them and the quantity utilized against it by June 30. Necessary documents verifying this utilization (exports) must be attached. Exporters requiring additional allocation may apply for the same. Conversely, exporters who have been unable to utilize their allocated quota or do not intend to ship the goods may surrender their quota to the government so it can be reallocated to other exporters in need. Detailed information regarding the quota allocation must be provided.
It is noteworthy that the Central Government had previously permitted the export of 5 lakh tonnes of wheat products via an order issued on January 16, 2026. Subsequently, through another order on February 24, 2026, approval was granted for the export of an additional 5 lakh tonnes. Thus, approval has been granted for the export shipment of a total of 10 lakh tonnes of wheat products. Exporters are now required to provide full details regarding actual shipments and the remaining quota.
