Fine rice distribution to begin in Telangana from January
The government of Telangana is set to begin its fine rice distribution program in January, which aims to benefit 2.81 crore beneficiaries in the state. The program will provide fine-quality rice to eligible people through the Public Distribution System (PDS).

Beneficiaries: 2.81 crore people will receive benefits under this scheme.
Total Paddy Purchased: The government has spent Rs 3,045.76 crore on purchasing 13.13 lakh metric tonnes of paddy.
Rice Varieties: Of the total paddy purchased, 10.11 lakh metric tonnes are coarse paddy varieties, and 3.02 lakh metric tonnes are fine rice varieties.
Guidelines Issued: The government has already issued guidelines for the scheme, which will ensure the smooth distribution of rice to eligible households.
This move is expected to strengthen food security and improve the quality of rice available to the people under the PDS, making it a significant step in enhancing the welfare of the population.
