India exports 4.24 lakh tonnes of sugar till April in current season: AISTA
The highest exports were made to Somalia at 92,758 tonnes.
The Indian government allowed sugar exports on January 20, 2025, with a maximum export quota of 10 lakh tonnes.
According to AISTA, as of April 30, exports included:
White sugar: 3.27 lakh tonnes
Refined sugar: 77,603 tonnes
Raw sugar: 18,514 tonnes
About 25,000 tonnes of sugar are currently under loading.

Sri Lanka – 60,357
Djibouti – 47,100
AISTA expects total sugar exports to reach around 8 lakh tonnes this season.
The association has urged the government to increase the minimum selling price of sugar in line with the hike in the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane for the 2025–26 season. It also demanded a 10% hike in ethanol procurement prices.
