According to Export Sales data, total corn export commitments stood at 47.579 MMT as of December 11, which is 31% higher than a year ago. This represents 59% of the USDA’s record export projection, in line with the 57% average sales pace. Actual shipments are 28% of that projection, ahead of the 5-year average of 19%.
According to the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, corn planting in Argentina has reached 77.7%, which is ahead of the average pace. Crop conditions for emerged corn are rated 87% good/excellent, compared with just 38% at the same time last year.
