ICE cotton futures closed Thursday’s session down 24 to 29 points as pressure from outside markets persisted. The US dollar index rose by \$0.249 to \$99.835, while crude oil futures fell 78 cents per barrel.
This morning’s export sales report showed 39,124 RB of old crop cotton sold for the week ending July 24, the highest in 3 weeks. Vietnam purchased 27,100 RB. New crop sales were 71,683 RB. For 2025/26, Vietnam was the top buyer at 27,400 RB, followed by Honduras at 13,800 RB. Shipments totaled 230,949 RB, also a 3-week high. Vietnam was the top destination at 66,400 RB, with 44,400 RB shipped to Turkey.
The Seam reported sales of 326 bales on Wednesday, with an average price of 64.83 cents/lb. The Cotlook A Index was down 60 points at 78.20 cents on July 30. ICE cotton stocks remained steady on July 30 at 21,617 bales. USDA’s Adjusted World Price (AWP) was down 43 points this afternoon to 54.52 cents/lb.
