International Cotton Market
ICE cotton futures ended Thursday's session with a decline of 20 to 27 cents. External factors were supportive, but they were largely ignored. Crude oil futures rose by 28 cents per barrel, while the U.S. Dollar Index was down by 0.818.
On February 19, CME reported an online sale of 5,968 bales with an average price of 60.04 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index rose by 60 points on Wednesday, reaching 79.40 cents per pound. ICE cotton stocks remained unchanged at 1,732 bales of certified stocks on February 19, after increasing the previous Tuesday. The USDA raised its Adjusted World Price (AWP) by 68 points to 54.67 cents per pound this week.
