ICE cotton futures closed Friday’s session 25 to 40 points higher, with the March contract posting a total gain of 74 points for the week. Crude oil futures fell $1.45 per barrel to $56.90, while the U.S. dollar index rose 0.054 to 97.735.
The December 24 online auction from The Seam reported sales of 6,914 bales at an average price of 61.96 cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index increased by 50 points on December 24 to 74.00 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks were steady on Wednesday, with certified stocks holding at 11,600 bales. Despite not being reported this week due to the government holiday, the Adjusted World Price remained unchanged at 49.99 cents per pound.
