The NOAA forecast for the next 7 days shows a drier pattern across Iowa, Missouri, and the ECB, with the Plains likely to receive light rainfall amounts ranging from light totals to just over an inch. Large managed money speculators in soybean futures and options added 25,445 contracts to their net short as of July 29, taking the total to 36,311 contracts by Tuesday. According to USDA’s Fats & Oils report, 197.1 million bushels of soybeans were crushed in June, above trade estimates and a record for the month. This was 7.44% higher than last year but 3.22% lower than in May. Soybean oil stocks at the end of the month stood at 1.894 billion lbs, slightly higher than in May but still 10.85% lower than last year.
