International Soybean Market
USDA reported the sale of 145,000 metric tons of soybean meal to the Philippines for the current marketing year.
According to the USDA’s export inspection report, soybean shipments for the week ending May 15 totaled 217,842 metric tons (8 million bushels). This was down 50.4% from the previous week but 13.3% higher than the same week in 2024. No shipments were made to China, while Mexico received 65,958 MT and Egypt received 52,843 MT. Total marketing year shipments now stand at 44.13 million metric tons (1.622 billion bushels), up 11.1% from the same week last year.
As of May 18, 66% of the U.S. soybean crop was planted, 13 percentage points ahead of the average pace. Emergence was at 34%, compared to the five-year average of 23%.
