International Wheat Market
According to the USDA’s Export Sales data released this morning, total wheat sales for the 2025/26 marketing year were 427,170 metric tons for the week ending June 12, within trade estimates of 300,000 to 600,000 metric tons. This was an improvement over the previous week but 27.56% lower than the same week last year.
Drier weather has been seen in parts of the Southern Plains in recent days, and the forecast calls for little precipitation except for parts of northwest Kansas. There was very little harvest activity from Wichita through Abilene and into Nebraska on Thursday due to wet soils.
Despite recent regional emergency declarations, Russia is still officially expecting both wheat production (90 million metric tons according to the agriculture minister) and exports to exceed last year’s levels. FranceAgriMer estimates the French soft wheat crop condition at 68% good/excellent, down 2 points from the previous week.
