इथेनॉल की बढ़ती डिमांड से भारत में मक्का उत्पादन और खपत दोनों बढ़ने की संभावनाएं
★ सरकार ने अप्रैल 2025 तक इथेनॉल ब्लेंडिंग का लक्ष्य 20% रखा।
★ वर्ष 2025 में मक्का की खपत इथेनॉल में 125 लाख टन पहुंचने की उम्मीद जो 2024 में 60 लाख टन हो सकती है।
★ USDA के अनुसार सीजन 2023/24 और 2024/25 में उत्पादन 375 लाख टन रह सकता है।
★ सीजन 2023/24 के मुकाबले 2024/25 में घरेलू खपत 8.5 लाख टन से बढ़कर 386 लाख टन पहुँच सकती है।
★ खपत को पूरा करने के लिए आयात भी बढ़ रहा है।
★ जनवरी से अगस्त तक करीब 3 लाख टन पहुंचा आयात जो मुख्यतः यूक्रेन, म्यांमार से हो रहा है।
★ नवंबर-दिसंबर तक 2.5 से 5 लाख टन आयात होने की उम्मीद।
★ मांग का समर्थन मिलने से कीमतों में तेजी का सिलसिला जारी रहने की प्रबल संभावनाएं।

With the increasing demand for ethanol, both maize production and consumption are expected to increase in India.
★ The government has set a target of 20% ethanol blending by April 2025.
★ In the year 2025, maize consumption is expected to reach 125 lakh tonnes in ethanol, which can be 60 lakh tonnes in 2024.
★ According to USDA, production can be 375 lakh tonnes in season 2023/24 and 2024/25.
★ As compared to season 2023/24, domestic consumption can increase from 8.5 lakh tonnes to 386 lakh tonnes in 2024/25.
★ Imports are also increasing to meet the consumption.
★ From January to August, imports reached about 3 lakh tonnes, which is mainly coming from Ukraine, Myanmar.
★ 2.5 to 5 lakh tonnes are expected to be imported by November-December.
★ There is a strong possibility that the upward trend in prices will continue due to support from demand.
