★ भारत विश्व के सबसे बड़े खाद्य तेल आयातक देशों में से एक में आयात पर निर्भरता लगातार बढ़ रही है।
★ सरकार को जल्द से जल्द खाद्य तेलों के आयात शुल्क में करने होंगे बदलाव।
★ इम्पोर्ट स्लैब्स में भी बदलाव की सख्त जरुरत।
★ आयातकों, तेल उद्योग को अभी तक GST का रिफंड जो 1500-1700 करोड़ रुपए के करीब है नहीं मिला।

★ पिछले 15 वर्षों में तिलहनों का उत्पादन 33% बढ़ा।
★ अनाजों के उत्पादन मामले में भारत आत्मनिर्भर परन्तु तेलों के मामले में आयात पर निर्भरता अधिक।
★ एक तरफ भारत चावल का सबसे बड़ा निर्यातक देश है तो दूसरी ओर खाद्य तेलों का आयातक देश।
★ पिछले 15 वर्षों में अनाज की प्रति कैपिटा खपत 10% बढ़ी।
★ 1996 में खाद्य तेलों की प्रति कैपिटा प्रति माह प्रति व्यक्ति खपत 7 किलो थी जो अब बढ़कर 21.5 किलो पहुंच चुकी है।
★ सोया का उत्पादन 1.2 करोड़ टन पहुंचा।
★ 2023 में खाद्य तेलों की खपत 270 लाख टन देखी गयी।
★ पिछले 15 वर्षों में 74.3 लाख टन खाद्य तेलों की खपत बढ़ी।

★ भारत सालाना 97 लाख टन पाम तेल का करता है आयात। अन्य तेलों का भी हो रहा है अच्छा आयात।
★ मलेशिया में कुल उत्पादन का 80% पाम तेल निर्यात होता है, 20% लोकल खपत रहती है।
★ भारत को मलेशिया औसतन 33 लाख टन करता है निर्यात।
★ मलेशिया में पाम तेल का रकबा 57 लाख हेक्टेयर रहता है।

★ India is one of the largest edible oil importers in the world and its dependence on imports is increasing continuously.
★ The government will have to make changes in the import duty of edible oils as soon as possible.
★ There is also a dire need to change the import slabs.
★ Importers and oil industry have not yet received GST refund which is close to Rs 1500-1700 crore.

★ Oilseed production increased by 33% in the last 15 years.
★ India is self-sufficient in the production of grains but is more dependent on imports in the case of oils.
★ On one hand, India is the largest exporter of rice and on the other hand, it is an importer of edible oils.
★ In the last 15 years, the per capita consumption of grains increased by 10%.
★ In 1996, the per capita consumption of edible oils was 7 kg per month, which has now increased to 21.5 kg.
★ Soya production reached 12 million tonnes.
★ In 2023, the consumption of edible oils is seen to be 270 lakh tonnes.
★ In the last 15 years, the consumption of edible oils increased by 74.3 lakh tonnes.

★ India imports 97 lakh tonnes of palm oil annually. Other oils are also being imported in good quantities.
★ 80% of the total production of palm oil in Malaysia is exported, 20% is consumed locally.
★ Malaysia exports an average of 33 lakh tonnes to India.
★ The area of palm oil in Malaysia is 57 lakh hectares.
