The registration of "Kasturi Brand Cotton" as a trademark is a significant move to establish a distinctive identity for high-quality Indian cotton in international markets.

This will help in showcasing India's cotton as a premium product globally, ensuring it stands out due to its quality and origin.

Alongside this, the "Pehchaan" scheme, implemented by the Development Commissioner Office (Handloom) under the Ministry of Textiles, has successfully organized 32.05 lakh artisans, with a notable emphasis on women empowerment.

Among these artisans, about 9.56 lakh are male and nearly 20 lakh are female, illustrating the program’s focus on involving a significant number of women in the handloom sector, contributing to both their economic independence and the growth of the textile industry.

Furthermore, the establishment of the seven PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PMMITRA) parks, with an allocation of ₹4445 crore, aims to build world-class infrastructure for the textile industry.

These parks will provide a “plug and play” facility, which will simplify the setup of textile businesses and enhance India's competitiveness in the global textile market.

The government's strategic investments in cotton production and quality enhancement are also aimed at improving yield rates and meeting the increasing demand for high-quality cotton, further boosting India's position in global textile exports and supporting its economic growth, especially in terms of employment and women’s empowerment.
