Kazakhstan's barley, lentil and maize exports rise
Kazakhstan's agricultural exports have seen significant growth recently, with key commodities like barley, lentils, maize, rice, and wheat performing particularly well.
Grain Exports: Between September and October, Kazakhstan exported 1.8 million tonnes of grain, marking a 48% increase compared to the same period last year. This includes wheat, barley, and maize, with wheat being a major export.
Lentils: Lentil exports surged dramatically, rising sevenfold to 80,000 tonnes. The primary destinations for these exports were European countries, showing a shift towards meeting demand in those regions.
Rice: Kazakhstan's rice exports also grew by 47%. New markets like Azerbaijan and Belarus played a role in this increase, helping diversify the country's export destinations.
Wheat and Flour: As one of the world's top ten grain exporters, Kazakhstan continues to send out 8 million tonnes of wheat and 2 million tonnes of flour annually to over 80 countries. This reinforces its position as a key player in global grain markets.
Overall, these developments highlight Kazakhstan's growing presence in international agricultural trade, especially with the diversification of export markets and the increase in export volumes across several key products.
