Mustard Arrivals Decline, Price Improvement Expected
★ Between May 1 and May 17, 2025, total mustard arrivals in markets across the country stood at 62.6 lakh bags, compared to 79.85 lakh bags during the same period last year — marking a sharp decline of nearly 21%.
★ From April 1 to April 30, 2025, total arrivals were 188.5 lakh bags, almost the same as the 188 lakh bags recorded during the same period in 2024.
★ Currently, mustard prices are witnessing fluctuations, but the outlook for the coming days appears positive. The demand for mustard oil among domestic consumers continues to grow steadily every year, and crushing activity is also expected to gradually pick up.
★ As crushing demand gains momentum, mustard prices may see further strengthening. Additionally, the decline in arrivals could also provide support to the prices.
