Canada Pulses Export Update (Till Week Ending 05 October 2025): Grain Commission Canada
Peas
★ During the week ending October 5, 2025, only 0.01 lakh tons of peas were exported, compared to 1.68 lakh tons in the previous week — indicating a sharp decline in weekly shipments.
★ Total exports since August stand at 6.27 lakh tons, lower than 7.40 lakh tons during the same period last year.
★ The pea export trend remains sluggish due to weak demand and limited port activity.
★ According to trade sources, about 6 lakh tons of peas have already been shipped from Canada to India so far this season.

Lentils
★ During the same week, lentil exports were 0.11 lakh tons, down from 0.56 lakh tons in the previous week.
★ Total exports since August have reached 2.63 lakh tons, about 46% higher than 1.80 lakh tons exported during the same period last year.
★ Despite the weekly decline, lentil exports continue to perform better year-on-year, supported by strong demand from South Asia and the Middle East.

Summary
★ Pea exports remain around 15% lower than last year, while lentil exports are showing strong growth. This indicates that within Canada’s pulse export portfolio, lentils are currently in higher demand, whereas pea trade continues to face weakness.
