News Capsule: Government Paddy Procurement Rises in Telangana
★ By the end of the kharif procurement season, Telangana has achieved a record government procurement of 7.082 million tonnes of paddy.
★ This figure is higher than the previous record of 7.020 million tonnes recorded in 2020–21, marking a new milestone in the state’s paddy procurement.
★ Out of the total procurement, 3.837 million tonnes consisted of fine varieties of paddy.
★ During this season, total paddy production in Telangana was around 14.8 million tonnes.
★ To encourage the cultivation of fine varieties, the state government also provided a bonus of ₹500 per quintal to farmers.
