★ U.S. cotton exports have declined.
★ As of 25 December 2025, the U.S. exported 6.5 million running bales of cotton, which is 15% lower than the previous week. This accounts for 57% of the USDA’s export estimate.
★ As of 5 January, 27,248 bales of cotton were auctioned on the U.S. SEAM online platform.

Domestic Cotton Market (India)
★ A duty on cotton imports has come into effect from 1 January 2026.
★ Cotton production in India is weak this year, but demand is not providing adequate support, due to which cotton prices have not seen an upward trend so far.
