News Capsule: Madhya Pradesh Rabi Sowing Progress Report (As of 14 November 2025)
★ During the Rabi season 2025–26, Madhya Pradesh has recorded a total sowing of 61.83 lakh hectares so far. In the same period last year, the sown area stood at 62.52 lakh hectares, which is slightly higher than this year.
★ Wheat, the state’s major Rabi crop, has been sown on 38.64 lakh hectares. The sowing target for this year has been set at 96.81 lakh hectares.
★ Gram sowing has reached 7.89 lakh hectares (against the target of 17.28 lakh hectares), supported by favourable conditions.
★ Lentil (masur) has been sown on 4.17 lakh hectares (target 6.36 lakh hectares), while pea sowing has crossed 2 lakh hectares.
★ Mustard sowing has reached 8.32 lakh hectares against the seasonal target of 12.33 lakh hectares.
★ According to departmental data, favourable weather and adequate soil moisture in several regions are supporting steady sowing progress.
★ Overall, the total Rabi sowing has reached 44% of the seasonal target of 138.85 lakh hectares.
