Mumbai. Due to strong Chinese demand for rapeseed meal, India's total oil meal exports increased to 2.464 million tons in the seven months of April-October 2025, an increase of 6,000 tons, or 3.18 percent, from 2.388 million tons shipped in the same months of 2024.
According to data from the Solvent Extractors Association of India (SEA), due to strong Chinese demand, India's rapeseed meal exports increased from 1.176 million tons to 1.252 million tons in these seven months.
During the same period, India's total shipments to China jumped by nearly 15,000 tons to 5.81 million tons.
According to the association, the average unit export offer price for Indian rapeseed meal is currently $217 per tonne, significantly lower than the prevailing ex-mill price of $244 per tonne in Hamburg, Germany. Consequently, China is showing strong interest in purchasing the Indian product.
According to the association, the government lifted the ban on the export of rice bran extracts on October 3, 2025, providing India with an opportunity to resume exports.
During the month of October, approximately 15,000 tonnes of rice bran extracts were exported from India to countries like Vietnam and Nepal.
Peanut extract exports jumped from 7,823 tonnes to 19,300 tonnes in the seven months between April and October. In addition, the country also saw good exports of soybean meal and castor meal.
