Oilmeal Export Data – SEA (Solvent Extractors’ Association of India)
★ In April 2025, India exported 465,863 tons of oilmeals, showing a marginal increase compared to 465,156 tons in April 2024.
From November 2024 to April 2025:
★ Soybean meal exports declined to 1.335 million tons, down from 1.658 million tons during the same period last year.
★ Rapeseed (mustard) meal exports also dropped to 0.911 million tons, compared to 0.930 million tons previously.
★ If China relaxes its stringent import norms on Indian rapeseed meal, India has the potential to become a key supplier to the Chinese market.
★ Currently, international prices for rapeseed meal (Ex-Hamburg) stand at \$308 per ton, whereas Indian rapeseed meal (Ex-Kandla FAS) is available at just \$202 per ton.
★ The increasing use of DDGS (Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles) in the livestock and poultry industry is impacting the demand for traditional oilmeals such as soybean meal, rapeseed meal, and DORB.
