Pulses and Coarse Grains Prices at a Two-Year High
★ According to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) monthly report, food prices continue to rise, particularly for Tur dal (Arhar dal), edible oils, and coarse grains.
Tur Dal (Arhar Dal) Prices Soar
The price of Arhar dal has reached Rs. 180 per kg. On e-commerce platforms, it is selling between Rs. 120 to Rs. 200 per kg.
Over the past two years, Arhar dal has become Rs. 28 per kg costlier (Rs. 112 in January 2023 to Rs. 140-Rs. 180 now).
Prices of Urad dal and Chana dal have also increased.
Rise in Coarse Grain Prices
Rice and wheat prices continue to surge.
Edible oil prices have been consistently rising since October 2024.
In the coming months, inflation is expected to impact household food budgets.
