Quota of 5841 tonnes of sugar fixed under TRQ for EU

New Delhi. The Central Government has fixed a quantity of 5841 tonnes of sugar for export to the European Union under the Tariff Rate Quota (TRQ) in the marketing season 2024-25 (October-September).

This allotted quantity can be exported anytime during the entire marketing season. The period of which will be from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025. Sugar quota is issued every year.

According to a notification issued by the Union Commerce Ministry, this export to the European Union under TRQ will be completely duty free and control free.

Provided it is outside the scope of control mentioned in the notification issued on 20 April 2025. According to the new notification,

if a Certificate of Origin is required for preferential export of this sugar to the European Union, it will be issued by the Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Mumbai,

on the recommendation of the Agricultural Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), which will be related to the firm and quantity.

Any other necessary certificate can also be issued accordingly. This export quota will be managed by APEDA (New Delhi) as it is the authorized agency for this export process.
